About This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NoNeed ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about drivers who use the NoNeed Driver application. This policy applies to both taxi drivers and delivery drivers. By using the NoNeed Driver app, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect various types of information to provide and improve our services. This includes information you provide directly and information collected automatically.

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and profile photo
  • Identity Verification: Driver's license number and license photos
  • Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, color, license plate number, vehicle registration, and vehicle photos
  • Insurance Information: Insurance policy details and proof of insurance
  • Banking Information: Bank account details or debit card information for earnings payouts (collected directly by Stripe, not stored by NoNeed)

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: Real-time GPS location while the app is active, route history, and proximity to pickup/dropoff locations
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, and mobile network information
  • App Usage Data: Features used, time spent online, response times to ride/delivery requests, and interaction patterns
  • Performance Metrics: Acceptance rate, completion rate, cancellation rate, on-time delivery percentage, and customer ratings
  • Trip/Delivery Data: Pickup and dropoff locations, routes taken, duration, distance traveled, and timestamps

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Driving Record (MVR) Providers: We verify your driving history using your driver's license information. We receive driving record results (license status, violations, accidents) but do NOT collect your Social Security Number.
  • Payment Processors (Stripe): Stripe collects your tax identification and banking information directly during their onboarding process. NoNeed does not collect or store your SSN - Stripe handles all tax compliance and 1099 issuance.
  • Mapping Services: Route optimization data from Mapbox

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Order Matching

Match you with nearby ride requests or delivery orders based on your location and availability

Real-Time Tracking

Share your location with customers so they can track their ride or delivery

Payment Processing

Process your earnings and facilitate payouts to your bank account

Safety & Verification

Verify your identity, conduct background checks, and ensure platform safety

Performance Evaluation

Calculate ratings, track metrics, and determine your driver tier

Customer Support

Respond to inquiries, resolve disputes, and provide assistance

We also use your information to:

  • Send important notifications about orders, earnings, and account updates
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to law enforcement requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Improve our platform, develop new features, and conduct analytics
  • Enforce our terms of service and driver agreements

Your Phone Number is Protected

Your real phone number is never shared with customers. All calls and messages are routed through Twilio proxy numbers that mask your actual contact information.

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Location Data & Tracking

Location data is essential for the operation of the NoNeed Driver app. Here's how we handle your location information:

4.1 When Location is Collected

  • While Online: Your location is continuously tracked when you are online and available for orders
  • During Active Orders: High-frequency location updates are collected during rides and deliveries
  • Proximity Detection: We check if you're within 0.5 miles (805 meters) of pickup/dropoff locations
  • When Offline: Location tracking stops when you go offline or close the app

4.2 How Location is Used

  • Match you with nearby orders based on your current position
  • Calculate estimated time of arrival (ETA) for customers
  • Enable customers to track their ride/delivery in real-time
  • Verify that you arrived at pickup and dropoff locations
  • Calculate trip distance for fare computation
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent activity

4.3 Location Sharing with Customers

During an active order, customers can see:

  • Your real-time location on a map
  • Your estimated time of arrival
  • Your route to the destination

Location sharing automatically stops when the order is completed or cancelled.

Location Permission Required

The app requires "Always Allow" or "While Using" location permission to function. Without location access, you cannot receive or complete orders.

5. Phone Number Privacy

We take special measures to protect your personal phone number:

5.1 Proxy Phone System

When you need to communicate with a customer, we use Twilio's phone proxy service:

  • A temporary proxy number is assigned for each communication session
  • Your real phone number is never revealed to customers
  • Calls and SMS are routed through the proxy number
  • Proxy numbers expire automatically after the order is completed

5.2 Communication Logging

For safety and dispute resolution purposes, we may retain:

  • Call timestamps and duration (not recordings)
  • SMS message metadata (delivery status, timestamps)
  • In-app chat messages between you and customers

6. Photo & Image Data

We collect and process various photos and images as part of our service:

Photo Requirements for Delivery

Pickup: You must photograph packages, groceries, or food orders as proof of collection.
Dropoff: For "Leave at Door" orders, you must photograph the delivered items showing the door/address. These photos protect both you and the customer.

7. Payment & Financial Data

We process financial information to facilitate your earnings and payouts:

7.1 Information Collected

NoNeed does NOT collect your Social Security Number (SSN) or tax identification number. Financial information is handled as follows:

  • Stripe collects directly: Bank account, debit card, and tax identification (SSN/EIN) during Stripe Connect onboarding
  • NoNeed stores: Earnings history, tips, bonuses, and withdrawal records (amounts only, not banking details)

7.2 Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. NoNeed does not store your bank account numbers, card numbers, or SSN. When you sign up for payouts, you complete Stripe's onboarding directly with Stripe - your sensitive financial information never passes through NoNeed's servers.

7.3 Tax Reporting

Stripe handles tax compliance. If you earn $600 or more in a calendar year, Stripe will issue you a 1099 form directly. NoNeed provides Stripe with your earnings data, but Stripe collects and secures your tax identification information. Earnings records are retained for 7 years as required by tax regulations.

We retain your information for different periods depending on the type of data:

7-Day Grace Period

When you request account deletion, there is a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel the request by logging back in. After 7 days, your personal data is permanently deleted (except for legally required records).

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL

Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with regular backups

Continuous monitoring for suspicious activity and potential breaches

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

10.1 Access & Portability

You can access your personal information through the app's Account section. You may request a copy of your data by contacting our support team.

10.2 Correction

You can update your profile information, vehicle details, and banking information directly in the app. For other corrections, contact support.

10.3 Deletion

You can request account deletion through the app. After a 7-day grace period, your personal data will be permanently deleted. See our Account Deletion page for details.

10.4 Communication Preferences

You can manage notification preferences in the app settings. Note that you cannot opt out of essential service communications (such as order notifications and safety alerts).

10.5 Location Permissions

You can disable location permissions in your device settings, but this will prevent you from using the app to receive and complete orders.

11. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The NoNeed Driver app may use the following technologies:

  • Analytics: We use analytics tools to understand app usage patterns and improve performance
  • Crash Reporting: We collect crash reports and error logs to fix bugs and improve stability
  • Push Notifications: We use push notification services to send you order alerts and important updates

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking in the mobile app.

12. Children's Privacy

The NoNeed Driver app is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

13. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer your data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by relevant authorities
  • Data processing agreements with all third-party service providers
  • Compliance with applicable data protection regulations

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • We will notify you through the app or via email
  • For significant changes, we may require you to review and accept the updated policy

Your continued use of the NoNeed Driver app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
